A new EC2U webinar series is coming your way on 7 October, connecting the EC2U research community around a shared scientific field: Materials & Methods for a Sustainable Future. Among the speakers is Julio Diarte Almada from the Umeå School of Architecture at Umeå University.
The series is organised within the framework of the EC2U Virtual Institute for Materials & Methods for a Sustainable Future (VI MMSF), one of EC2U’s Virtual Institutes dedicated to fostering research collaboration across its Partner Universities. The aim is simple: to connect researchers around joint scientific topics, share ongoing research, and explore new opportunities for collaboration across the EC2U Alliance.
The first webinar will take place on 7 October 2026, from 13:00 to 14 CET, and will focus on Additive Manufacturing. Among the speakers is Julio Diarte Almada from the Umeå School of Architecture at Umeå University.Two speakers from EC2U Universities will present their research activities:
Asst. Prof. Julio Diarte Almada, Umeå School of Architecture, on "Material Matters: Lessons from 3D Printing Cementitious and Bio-Based Composites"
Asst. Prof. Franca Scocozza, University of Pavia, on "Living Materials in 3D: Current Capabilities and Open Challenges"
It will offer an opportunity for members of the EC2U research community working in this field to learn about similar research interests and activities, exchange with peers from across the Alliance, and identify potential avenues for collaboration.
