The second episode of the EC2U webinar series on Materials & Methods for a Sustainable Future will take place on 4 November, bringing together two researchers to discuss innovative approaches to Advanced Materials.
The series is organised within the framework of the EC2U Virtual Institute for Materials & Methods for a Sustainable Future (VI MMSF), one of EC2U’s Virtual Institutes dedicated to fostering research collaboration across its Partner Universities. The aim is simple: to connect researchers around joint scientific topics, share ongoing research, and explore new opportunities for collaboration across the EC2U Alliance.
The second webinar of the series will take place on 4 November 2026, from 13:00 to 14 CET, and will focus on Advanced Materials with the intervention of two researchers:
Asst. Prof. Giovanni Perotto, University of Pavia, on "Upcycling food byproducts into sustainable materials"
Prof. Vincent Mauchamp, Pprime Institute - Dept for Physics and Mechanics of Materials, University of Poitiers, on "Defect engineering in two-dimensional transition metal carbides/nitrides (MXenes): structural characterisations and properties tuning"
It will offer an opportunity for members of the EC2U research community working in this field to learn about similar research interests and activities, exchange with peers from across the Alliance, and identify potential avenues for collaboration.
Interested in joining? Register here by Friday 30 October.
The series continues on the first Wednesday of each month, with each session exploring a different topic related to Materials & Methods for a Sustainable Future. Stay tuned for upcoming webinars!
