European Campus of City-Universities (EC2U) will host a webinar on 21 April at 15:30 CET, featuring University of Coimbra (UC) researcher Patrícia Alves as guest speaker.

Under the theme “PET Imaging in Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy: Insights into Myocardial Metabolism and Deformation”, the online session will explore the latest advances in the use of positron emission tomography (PET) to analyse myocardial metabolism and the mechanisms of cardiac deformation associated with this condition.

Participation is free, subject to prior registration via this link: https://ls.uc.pt/index.php/942572?lang=en

Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is a complex heart disease frequently associated with structural and functional changes in the heart muscle. Through advanced imaging techniques such as PET, it is possible to gain a deeper understanding of the underlying metabolic processes, contributing to more accurate diagnosis and the development of more effective therapeutic strategies.

The webinar is organised by UC in partnership with the Coimbra Local Health Unit as part of EC2U activities aimed at promoting the sharing of scientific knowledge among European universities and their partners, strengthening collaboration in strategic areas of research and innovation in health.

Participation is open to members of the academic and scientific community interested in cardiovascular medicine, medical imaging and biomedical research.
