The workshop “3 ways to ruin a presentation (and fix it)” is designed to create a safe, interactive, and supportive environment where PhD students can openly reflect on common challenges encountered in presentations.
The purpose of this session is to explore typical “fail moments” in presenting research on Health and Well-being and to transform them into learning opportunities.
Participants will gain a clearer understanding of what makes a presentation effective, engaging, and impactful, while also developing practical skills related to structuring ideas, communicating clearly, and managing presentation anxiety.
The session will take place on May 7th, 2026 at 16:00 (CEST).
Each participant will have a 5-minute presentation slot. Slides are recommended; the emphasis is on clarity, reflection, and constructive discussion rather than perfection. Participants are encouraged to prepare a short reflection, example based, on their own experience with academic presentations, focusing on:
common mistakes or challenges often encountered
what went wrong or felt difficult and
what lessons were learnt The session aims to foster peer learning, confidence, and practical communication skills in a collaborative academic setting.
