Gerd Aurell's drawing performance Svenska växter [Swedish Plants] is performed in the Ground Control exhibition during the day. Free admission, warmly welcome!
Svenska växter is a performance from från 1995, now re-performed at Bildmuseet. During three days, all plants from the Swedish flora is drawn on the wall, one species on top of the other, until they float together in a single black shape. The artist's intention is to free the plants from the book's Linnaean inspired structure and its organized way of looking at nature, to return them to chaos. The piece is performed by the artist's daughter, Sofia Aurell.
