Abstract
Although many people have the feeling that AI could contribute to solving some of the problems that indigenous communities encounter in the current time, most people actually use these problems as an inspiration for a use case to show some AI application. How can AI be actually developed in cooperation with indigenous communities such that it has a positive impact on the community? In this presentation we explore some of the pittfalls and possibilities and argue for a new way of doing science in this context.
