Time Wednesday 10 April, 2024 at 12:00 - 13:00
Place Glasburen, KBC

The Integrated Science Lab invites you to join the conversation, centered around past and future microbial services in coastal systems and optimal harvesting problems solved using deep learning.

Who is pitching about what?

Pitch 1: Eric Capo, Assistant Professor, Department of Ecology and Environmental Sciences
Water deoxygenation changing microbial services in past, present and future coastal systems
Interested in: finding collaborators with expertise in climate modelling that could help develop the last step of this project - using ancient environmental DNA data to project the future impact of water deoxygenation on global biogeochemical processes.

Pitch 2: Kevin Kamm, Postdoctoral Researcher, Department of Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics
Deep Learning for High-Dimensional Joint Optimal Stopping and Stochastic Control Problems with Applications in Finance
Interested in: Collaborators with expertise in aquatic, forest or agricultural ecology, to develop realistic models to determine optimal feeding/fertilizing and pest reduction strategies

Join the conversation - ideas welcome from anyone!

Register to come to the pitch and reserve your lunch by Monday, 8 April at 10am:
