Examination activities began in the new Aurora building back in the spring, and now it is time to inaugurate the building on the wooded hill.
Aurora connects Universum and Naturvetarhuset by extending the campus corridor. The building houses examination rooms, lecture halls, study areas and a café – a new meeting place on campus. The building has high environmental goals and a focus on sustainability.
There will be an opening speech by Vice-Chancellor Tora Holmberg and a presentation of the building and its activities.
No pre-registration is required.
At 10:30–11:00, just outside Aurora, the Swedish Arts Council's sculpture ‘Stjärnlikt grenverk’ (Star-like Branches) will be unveiled. Artist Thomas Hämén will be present and give a short presentation.
The artwork resembles a reindeer lichen, as large as a tree, and at the same time a map of the largest thing in the universe known to humankind.
