Time Monday 22 April, 2024 at 15:00 - 16:30
Place UB339, Umeå University Library (main campus)

Welcome to an information meeting about the STINT Teaching Sabbatical - a scholarship for teachers who are passionate about teaching issues. Teaching Sabbatical give teachers and researchers the opportunity to teach at an university abroad during an autumn semester.

The programme is run by STINT (the Foundation for the Internationalization of Higher Education and Research) and is a very well thought out and advantageous scholarship for teachers and researchers but also for the accompanying family.

For those who are interested in applying for the scholarship, an application workshop is also organized on 12 June where you can get help in formulating your application to be submitted in mid-August.

Emilie Sörås Antila, programme manager at STINT, will present the programme and former fellows will talk about their experiences of having applied for, and participated in, the Teaching Sabbatical.

Registration

You need to register to the event no later than 16 April. When registering, please indicate if you want to participate on site or via Zoom.

About the STINT Teaching Sabbatical
STINT collaborates with selected universities based in the USA, Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan. As a participant in Teaching Sabbatical, you will stay at a university abroad and teach during an autumn semester (August – December). The intention is for you to teach, either by giving a course on your own or co-teach with a colleague at the host institution ("co-teaching").

STINT Teaching Sabbatical is based on a nomination process where the director of studies or head of department can nominate interested candidates for the International Office. An internal review then takes place before Umeå University nominates 2-3 candidates for STINT. The last day to send in your application to the International Office is mid-August 2024.
