The innovation office at Umeå University together with The Swedish Patent and Registration Office (PRV) would like to welcome PhD Students, researchers and employees of the Faculties of Arts and of Social Science and Umeå Arts Campus to a day of IPR (intellectual property rights) seminars.
On completion of the course, the participant:
Presenter: PRV
This seminar will give you an introduction to Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and how different
aspects of IPR are relevant to academic research. There will also be an overview of the international systems relevant to Designs, Trademarks, Copyright and Patents and a discussion on how a product, design or a service can be protected by various types of IPR.
Presenter: PRV
This seminar will give you knowledge about IP information, why understanding IP is relevant for your research and designs and how to search and use IP, e.g. patent information. You will learn which databases are available to you.
Presenter: Innovation office
The seminar will give an overview of different aspects of how utilization/commercialization of research results and assets within a research project can be undertaken. Information about support for utilization and the innovation process will also be given by the Innovation office.
Will be handed out at the first seminar and consists of selected case studies presented on seminars.
