Split Attention: How to communicate well in synchronous hybrid teaching
When we do synchronous hybrid teaching, students are present in the room on campus as well as online at the same time. For this, we have zoom rooms on campus, and special rooms like Aula Biologica in Biologihuset.
In this – synchronously hybrid – workshop we work with possible lay-outs of the classroom and learning activities. We practice with effective, activating communication to all the students. What challenges do you have as a teacher? How do you keep track of things happening online when being in the room, or things happening in the room when you are online? We explore how you can give all students, online or on campus, the feeling of “being part of the group” and mattering.
