Place Bildmuseet

Welcome to a pattern workshop led by artist Carl Johan De Geer, who will introduce you to the art of creating pattern rapports. You will get the opportunity to construct designs based on your own motifs.

The workshop starts with an artist talk and is held on two occasions on Saturday, September 14. Free admission but pre-registration is required due to a limited number of seats. Please note: Fully Booked!

The event is part of the programme in conjunction with the exhibition "Carl Johan De Geer / The Big Misconception" and offered in a collaboration between Bildmuseet and the Department of Creative Studies, Umeå University.

Ever since his debut in the 1960s, Carl Johan De Geer (b. 1938) has been a prominent figure in Swedish culture. Innovative, provocative and brilliantly versatile, he has worked as an artist, designer, film maker, photographer, scenographer and author. But from the start he wanted to become a textile designer.

Until September 15th, you can be inspired by Carl Johan De Geer's textile works, fabrics and pattern sketches in Bildmuseet's exhibition "The Big Misconception".
