The Research Seminar Series in Archaeology and Environmental archaeology invites you to a seminar with Dr. Philip Buckland. The seminar title is “The Strategic Environmental Archaeology Database (SEAD) meets the Swedish National Infrastructure for Digital Archaeology (Swedigarch)".

Abstract:

SEAD has been developed over the last 10 years as a platform for providing access to archaeological science data. These data are both complex and extensive, and valuable for many different research fields. The SEAD online browser (browser.sead.se) gives users advanced filtering capabilities without needing to know how to code. It also includes a number of built-in visualisation systems for displaying and evaluating the data, and some limited facility for computational access to aggregated data. From the start of 2022, SEAD has been part of the new Swedigarch infrastructure, within which it will need to be further increased in scope, and the connections with other areas of archaeology increased.
