Title:

Information about next call for proposals and new possibilities at MAX IV synchrotron

Abstract:
The main purpose of my presentation is to encourage everybody to use exciting experimental possibilities of MAX IV synchrotron and to submit proposals for the next call with a deadline of the 6th of March. I will start with short reminder about available beamlines, application procedures, hints to prepare good proposals and recent applications/publication statistics from MAX IV. Some beamlines are expanding the range of their experimental possibilities and it is important to follow the progress. The main part of seminar will be about new experimental possibilities now available to users after upgrades at DANMAX and MAXPEEM beamlines. Both beamlines now propose advanced imaging methods using synchrotron X-rays but their methods are based on entirely different principles. MAXPEEM now operates Aberration Corrected Photoelectron Microscope with few nm resolution. DANMAX performed first user experiments with full field imaging and combined XRD-XRF imaging. The methods were tested for imaging of variety of nanomaterials and bio-samples. Some examples of recent research results will be provided. This seminar will be equally interesting for potentially new users and experienced users with background in Physics, Chemistry and Bioscience.
