The REGEN|ED Symposium 2026, Living and Learning Regeneratively: Thriving with(in) the Planetary Boundaries, is a participatory and exploratory gathering focused on how we can live and learn regeneratively in a time shaped by intertwined ecological and social challenges. Rather than a traditional conference, the symposium is designed as a shared learning process where participants engage in dialogue, practices, and experimental forms of knowledge creation. The aim is to collaboratively develop insights, methods, and questions that will contribute to a collective publication. The programme is organized around seven interconnected themes: education, relationships, spirituality, earthfulness, movement, food systems, and activism. These serve as entry points for exploring regenerative ways of thinking, teaching, and acting within planetary boundaries. The symposium will take place August 26–28, 2026 at Umeå University and will be followed by a writing retreat August 29–31 at Strömbäcks folkhögskola, offering time to reflect and develop contributions to a shared publication. The event is open to researchers, practitioners, and others interested in exploring regenerative living and learning through participation, collaboration, and collective knowledge-making.
