The need to create political profiles to influence voter behavior has always been an important objective for political parties. However, the methods to collect and analyze voter data, as well as to target campaign material to voters, have changed radically in our digital age. Today, people’s online behavior and digital foot prints are turned into a valuable resource for political parties. Furthermore, companies like Cambridge Analytica have revealed how digital tools also can be used to manipulate voters and polarize society.
