UID26 is the annual graduation event at Umeå Institute of Design, bringing together design talks, a degree exhibition, and a shared celebration of the graduating class of 2026. Over two days, students from UID’s graduate and bachelor programmes present their final projects through live on-stage talks, physical models, and refined prototypes.
This year’s student-led theme, TRACES, reflects the paths, questions, and responsibilities that shape design practice today. It speaks to what is carried forward through materials, methods, collaboration, and care, and to the traces design leaves on people, society, and the planet.

UID26 is an invite-only event and welcomes students, alumni, collaborators, industry partners, and members of the wider design community. For those unable to attend on site, the event will be live-streamed, alongside an extensive digital project gallery showcasing this year’s graduate work.
