Umeå School of Architecture welcomes representatives from Henning Larsen Architects (DK) who will present their ongoing work as part of the open lecture series UMA Talks. They will share perspectives on the future of architecture through projects and practice.
Rune Bungaard, Lead Busines Development
Rune Bundgaard is Lead Business Developer at Henning Larsen, where he works at the intersection of strategy, business development, and architectural innovation. His role focuses on identifying and developing new project opportunities that support the studio’s long-term ambitions within sustainability, transformation, urban development, and the future of the built environment. In addition to leading business development activities, Rune contributes to the ongoing development of Henning Larsen’s strategic direction, helping translate emerging societal, environmental, and market trends into new opportunities and partnerships. Drawing on experience from both independent practice and several of Copenhagen’s leading architectural firms, he combines a commercial perspective with a strong understanding of architecture, urban development, and project development. Rune is also involved in selected development projects and early-stage initiatives, exploring how architecture can respond to changing societal needs through sustainability, innovation, adaptive reuse, and new approaches to design and delivery. His work is driven by a belief that architecture can create lasting value for people, communities, and the environment.
Per Ebbe Hansson, Lead Design Arkitekt, Projektleder
Per Hansson is an architect with extensive experience in concept development and design leadership across urban development, educational environments, cultural buildings, and civic architecture. Based in Scandinavia, with a particular focus on Sweden, he has developed holistic architectural solutions that respond to landscape, urban context, and local identity. Throughout his career, Per has contributed to a range of significant public projects, including Umeå Arts Campus, Kiruna City Hall and Museum, and Uppsala City Hall. His work explores how architecture can support public life, create a sense of belonging, and strengthen connections between buildings, communities, and place. A significant part of Per’s portfolio is dedicated to learning environments. He has led the design of schools and educational facilities that support collaboration, adaptability, and student well-being, while balancing architectural quality, sustainability ambitions, and client objectives. Most recently, he led the design development of the New School in Sundby, Denmark’s first Nordic Swan Ecolabelled public school, guiding the project from
competition-winning concept into detailed design.
The UMA Talks are a free and accessible series of events. The series is devoted to advancing architectural discourse from both an international perspective and local perspective, and strives to enable the public, students, teachers, and researchers both within architecture and from other fields to get insight to and participate in the educational activities and academic research taking place at Umeå School of Architecture.
