Write your thesis abroad with an MFS-scholarship

Minor Field Studies is a scholarship that makes it possible for final-year students at bachelor's or master's level to carry out degree projects abroad. Join us at this digital information meeting and learn more about the application. 
 
With the scholarship, you can travel to a country where Sweden engages in development cooperation, to collect material for your thesis or degree project. The field study must last for a minimum of 6 consecutive weeks and the scholarship is SEK 25,000.  The last day to apply is 15 April. 
 
To apply for a scholarship there are certain criteria you must meet. You must be a registered student at Umeå University, be proficient in English and preferably have basic knowledge of Swedish, be a Swedish citizen or have been registered in the Swedish Population Register for at least one year at the time of your application. You must not have started a postgraduate education. At the information session, you will meet the physiotherapy students Signe Kero and Alva Semneby Eklund who attended their MFS in the autumn of 2025 in Tanzania.
