Research grants are awarded annually funded by the foundations managed by Umea University, and disbursed by the Faculty of Medicine, known as Insamlingsstiftelsen.
About Insamlingsstiftelsen
Foundations for medical research and associated foundations that administered by Faculty of Medicine are collectively named Insamlingsstiftelsen, and have existed since the late 1950s. The earliest bequest constituting a gift to medical research at Umeå University was made in 1959.
The Faculty of Medicine has received donations for medical research from individuals across Sweden and for a range of purposes. One of the aims is for the Insamlingsstiftelsen to serve as a natural recipient of donations for medical research, both for donors from northern Sweden and for donors from other parts of the country or the world.
