Umeå University researchers can publish open access at no cost in the majority of Oxford University Press hybrid journals. Read more about the terms of our agreement with the publisher and what it means for you here.
The open access publishing fee has been pre-paid through an agreement between the library and Oxford University Press (OUP). The agreement applies to the majority of OUP hybrid journals.
Terms and conditions
You must be the corresponding author, i.e., the one handling communication with the publisher and journal.
Your Umeå University affiliation must be stated in the published article.
Use your university e-mail ending with @umu.se. The e-mail domain is often used to recognize your eligibility.
Your article will be published under a CC BY license in most cases. Some OUP journals only offer a more restrictive license, such as CC BY-NC-ND or CC BY-NC. Please note that the “standard license” is not an open access license.
The agreement only applies to OUP hybrid journals.
How the publishing process works
Once your article has been accepted for publication by OUP, you should:
log in to “Author Services” (you will receive a link from OUP when your article has been accepted)
choose and approve an open access license (for example CC BY) under “Manuscript Licenses”
on the page “Publishing Charges for Your Article”, select “Swedish Universities (Bibsam Affiliated)" from the dropdown list under “Open Access Prepayment Account”.
Detailed instructions can be found on the OUP webpage:
