Even if you are not a student or employee at Umeå University, you can still borrow books from Umeå University Library.
If you would like to borrow books from the library as a member of the public, you need a library card for the general public. This allows you to borrow and request physical books. To access the library’s e-books or databases, however, you need to visit the library and use certain computers. You must be at least 18 years old and be able to present valid photo identification to obtain a library card.
For students and employees at Umeå University, the UMU card serves as your library card.
