The work on developing a new vision for Umeå University is in its final stages. Based on everything that has emerged from workshops and interviews during the autumn, the University Management has now formulated a 2035 Vision for Umeå University with associated strategies for achieving it.
A direction Umeå University is aiming for by 2035 is to be one of Sweden's leading universities and be internationally recognised. Pictured: Tora Holmberg, Vice-Chancellor of Umeå University.

The document containing the vision and strategies has been sent to the student union chairs, the chairs of the central trade union organisations, department and office heads for review and reflection. It is still a rapid process, so these individuals now have just under two weeks to submit any comments on the content. A final version of the vision and strategy document will then be compiled for decision by the University Board in February.
"I would really like to thank all students and employees for your great commitment and valuable contributions to the work on the new vision," says Vice-Chancellor Tora Holmberg.
The University's vision and strategies will form the basis for operational planning and budgeting at all levels of the organisation from 2027 onwards.
