Electric car at Umeå Arts Campus allows for sustainable travel

Students can use an electric car parked at Umeå Arts Campus. The initiative comes from the property owner Campus X, which wants to promote sustainable mobility, increase shared use and give those who do not own a car the opportunity to use one when needed. As a student, you can create an account to use the car free of charge.
The electric Volvo EX 30, which can be found on Umeå Arts Campus, is part of an open sharing service. As a student at Umeå University, you can join the service free of charge via OKQ8 and book the car at an hourly fee.
Since the electric car is part of an open sharing service, anyone can register a user. This also means that, if you registered as a user, you can use other cars that are part of OKQ8's car sharing fleet in Umeå. To ensure that the car is available when you need it, you are recommended to book in advance.
Campus X has chosen to collaborate with OKQ8, which offers several advantages, including regular checks, cleaning and servicing, as well as customer service. Although the service was not initiated by Umeå University, car sharing services are in line with the University's ambitions to reduce the climate impact of travel.
Parking and charging
The car is 100% electric and has a rented parking space on Umeå Arts Campus. Campus X covers the charging costs at this location. The range is shown on the car's display and normally covers most needs. If you need to charge the car at another location, you will have to pay the charging fees yourself.
When your booking slot starts, unlock the car via the app. The car key is in the car.
Return the car to the car park before the booked time ends and connect the car to the charger.
Register the end of your car rental in the app.
The price for using the service is usually SEK 99 per month, but by creating an account via the link above, you will pay no monthly fee. You will only pay an hourly fee when you use the car.
