NEWS On the frozen sea outside the facility of UMF, french scientists are testing instruments intended for autonomous water measurements in cold conditions.
During this week, UMF is visited by Sebastien Mas and David Parin from the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) in Montpellier."We are here to investigate how the electronics and battery are affected by the cold, such as how different measurement ranges affect battery capacity." said Sebastien Mas.
The research is part of the international project AQUACOSM, where CNRS develops a new portable and floating mesocosm platform with autonomous sensors for studying the pelagic food web (LAMP).
