Leonor Fini / Pourquoi pas? will be launched during the Book Fair in Gothenburg as well as during an open evening at Bildmuseet on Tuesday, September 30 between 18:30 and 20:00. The three curators give a presentation of the book which will be on sale at a discounted price. Refreshments offered. Welcome!

Leonor Fini (1907-1996) was an artist who challenged by questioning the boundaries between the feminine and masculine, myth and reality, the conscious and the unconscious. The relationship between the sexes is her central motif. Leonor Fini went demonstratively her own way and her work is characterized by a radical, consistent and individual approach. She moved in Surrealist circles and participated in surrealist exhibitions while marking distance to the group's leading figure Andre Breton and his dominant attitude.

The book is published by Bildmuseet with support of Umeå 2014. It can be ordered via e-mail info@bildmuseet.umu.se.
