NEWS Blood pressure lowering medicines for healthy people with blood pressure below 140 do not provide additional protection against cardiovascular disease. For some, it may even have negative effects. This is shown in a new doctoral thesis by Mattias Brunström at Umeå University that gets extra relevance by guidelines in the United States and discussions in Europe.
