Parish register search tool soon free for genealogy enthusiasts

On 1 January 2012, it will be free of charge to access the INDIKO parish registers on the web. The search tool makes it possible to find information about individuals and groups in theEcclesiastical registers run by the Demographic Data Base, that stretches from the end of the 1600s up to 1900.
The Demographic Data Base at Umeå University has previously required a registration, but the INDIKO register will be free for all users at the turn of the calendar year.
The parish registers that can be found are located in the northern inland region, Skelleteå region, Sundsvall region, Linköping region, and in Swedish Sápmi.
The Indiko parish registers are available for searches in Swedish, English, Finnish and Northern Sami. More information about INDIKO
