Some information has been leaked following the cyber attack

IT supplier Miljödata has investigated the consequences of the cyber attack. It is now known that some information about employees and former employees at Umeå University has been leaked.
Last week, it became known that Miljödata, the supplier of Adato, the system support used by Umeå University in the rehabilitation process for employees, had been subjected to a cyberattack. A number of measures have been taken and a thorough investigation is underway into the incident and its consequences.
It has now been revealed that certain personal data belonging to employees and former employees of Umeå University has been leaked from Adato to the attacker.
The data that has been leaked includes:
names
personal identification numbers
contact details
gender
number of sick days
Miljödata emphasises that no information containing details of medical certificates, union membership, notes made by managers or information about the reasons for rehabilitation plans has been leaked.
Individuals at Umeå University who have protected personal data have not had their protected data disclosed.
The investigation continues
Miljödata has reported the incident to the police and is continuing its intensive work to investigate what happened and what consequences it may have. Miljödata has reinstalled the Adato system with additional security measures to prevent future intrusion attempts.
In accordance with its procedures, Umeå University has reported the matter to the Swedish Data Protection Authority (IMY) and is monitoring developments closely.
At present, Umeå University has decided to keep the Adato system shut down.
