ImageMattias PetterssonUkraine’s ambassador to Sweden has asked the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions to hoist the Ukrainian flag on 24 August in honour of the Independence Day of Ukraine. Together with several other municipalities, health regions and universities around Sweden, Umeå University will also show its solidarity and support for Ukraine during the Russian invasion by decorating campus with the Ukrainian flag.
Umeå University would also like to call attention to a fundraising campaign aimed at supporting Ukrainian students at Umeå University who migrated to Sweden as a consequence of the war. As these students are not entitled to student grants or loans, this leads to difficulties for the students to afford their living costs. Your help would be highly appreciated!
