WCMM symposium: New frontiers in neuroscience and imaging

NEWS On June 7 the Wallenberg Centre for Molecular Medicine arranged a symposium on neuroscience and imaging.

For the first time WCMM at Umeå University hosted an open Symposium with invited speakers in neuroscience and imaging.

In front of an audience of about one hundred Professor Wolfgang Baumeister, Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry, Martiensried, Germany opened the day with a presentation on cryo-electron microscopy.

The other speakers - Gian Michele Ratto, Aurelien Roux, Michael Schöll, Jonathan Hyam, Francesca Cordeiro and Wolfgang Drexler - covered different research fields, from optical coherence tomography (OCT) to studies with various brain imaging techniques in relation to dementia as well as  neurosurgical procedures.

The organizers wish for the symposium to become a recurring meeting place at the Faculty of Medicine for researchers, clinicians and employees with an interest in molecular medicine.
