User training is required for independent use of MAXS. It is provided for the instruments in a dedicated X-ray diffraction user training course (2 ECTS) that covers sample preparation, basic measurements, and basics of data evaluation.
MAXS hosts a PhD student course in X-ray crystallography (7.5 ECTS), aiming for powder X-ray diffraction. We are looking into course development for structure determination and evaluation, pending staff time. The platform is also used in M.Sc.Eng. programmes and in M.Sc. thesis projects.
