I am currently diving deep into the structural biology of Photosystem II (PSII) of the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana. I am striving to make a major contribution to the plant research field in order to fight the increasing problem of food scarcity.

The idea is to relate the obtained structural information of wild-type PSII with the one obtained from mutants. To address this problem I use Cryo-Electron Microscopy (Cryo-EM), fluorescence spectroscopy techniques (STED-FCS, smFRET & FLIM) and several bioinformatics techniques.

Additionally, I have interests in the topic of evolution, advances in spectroscopy and Cryo-EM techniques, and the way we handle and process scientific data in a world increasingly driven by massive datasets.

I support open science and I am very keen to establish new collaborations. Welcome to contact me.
