Affiliated researcher in medical radiation physics, focusing on quantitative PET imaging, image analysis, and imaging biomarkers in cancer diagnostics.
I am an affiliated researcher in medical radiation physics at Umeå University and work as a medical physicist at Region Västerbotten.
My research focuses on quantitative PET imaging and the development of imaging biomarkers in cancer diagnostics. I use advanced image analysis methods, including radiomics and machine learning, to investigate how information from PET/CT and PET/MRI can be used to better characterize tumours, predict disease outcomes, and support clinical decision-making.
An important part of my research is to investigate how technical factors, such as image reconstruction and tumour segmentation, affect the reliability of quantitative imaging measures and predictive models.
My research primarily focuses on prostate cancer and lymphoma, in close collaboration with clinical departments and research groups in Sweden and internationally.
I teach medical radiation physics and diagnostic imaging, primarily in the medical and radiography programmes at Umeå University. My teaching covers topics such as the physical principles of medical imaging techniques, image quality, and radiation protection.
I am responsible for radiology teaching during the fifth semester of the medical programme and share responsibility for a course on radiation protection, technology, and physics for radiology residents.
I also supervise doctoral students and students conducting research projects.
