Fabio König is a project assistant at the Department of Political Science at Umeå University and is affiliated with the international research project SATOCONN. He holds a Master’s degree in Crisis Management and Peacebuilding, and his work is grounded in extensive qualitative field research in northern Sweden.
Fabio’s research focuses on land use conflicts in Sápmi, with particular attention to Sámi reindeer herding, climate change, and governance and consultation processes. His master’s thesis examined how Sámi reindeer herders experience increasing land use pressures and how institutional frameworks shape possibilities for long-term adaptation.
Within SATOCONN, Fabio contributes to comparative research on social-ecological landscapes and knowledge co-production, aiming to support more inclusive and sustainable approaches to land use governance.
