Dr Huong Vu is a finance scholar with over a decade of research experience in sovereign risk, credit rating agencies and emerging issues in corporate finance. She obtained her Master's degree and PhD in Finance from Bangor University, Wales. Prior to joining Umeå University, Dr Huong Vu held academic positions at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland and Coventry University, England. Her research examines the quality and market implications of sovereign credit ratings, credit rating agencies and the impact of managerial behaviour on corporate decisions and outcomes. Her research has been published in internationally recognised journals such as European Financial Management, The European Journal of Finance, Journal of International Money and Finance. Dr Vu's research has attracted wider media attention, with findings featured in Bloomberg News, Scottish Financial News, among other outlets.
