Researcher with focus on Lipedema, a relatively unknown disease that affects women. Additionally, clinically active as an M.D. at the Department of Dermatology and Venereology.
My area of research focuses on Lipedema, a chronic disease affecting women that manifests as an asymmetric distribution of fatty tissue, commonly on the extremities. Additionally, it is associated with other symptoms such as pain. My research has both a qualitative approach using interviews and also utilizes questionaires and objective measurments. In addition to lipedema, I also conduct research in skin tumurs and leg ulcers.
Clinically, I work as a M.D. at the Department of Dermatology and Venereology at NUS.
I instruct medical students during their clinical practice at the Department of Dermatology and Venereology as well as have been a teaching assistant during the dermatology course.
