I work as an Educational Developer and is the Support Manager for Centre for Educational Development (UPL). Besides being responsible for the support for Umeå University's systems for E-learning, I also train staff in the field of e-learning, produce support- and teaching materials and I can be hired for consultancy assignments.
My primary field of work is the use of educational technology in higher education. I have worked in e-learning and ICT for 10 years and has a broad experience in using technology as support for teaching and learning. My experience span areas such as Distance Education, Blended Learning and Flipped Classroom. I believe that in most cases teaching can be improved with the support of technology. As an Educational Developer, my aim is to support the development of active, creative and critical thinking students. With the help of research, experience and technology I try to support teachers to develop courses that fosters deep learning and active student learning. I have over the years followed the development of technology with great interest and seen how educational thoughts and ideas affected the demands we place on technology, while at the same time technology has opened for new educational opportunities. I have trained teachers in how to use podcasting in their teaching, how to use learning management systems and how to flip their teaching. I have trained teachers in Problem Based Learning and the Case Method. I am very interested to support teachers to develop their teaching towards students active learning. From 2018, I will be responsible for support for Umeå university's E-learning systems. It currently includes Cambro (Sakai), Moodle, Adobe Connect / Zoom, Urkund and UmU Play (Kaltura).Close
