I am a PhD candidate in Media and Communication Studies, and my dissertation project focuses on science communication on social media platforms such as TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram.
In my research, I examine how science communication takes shape through interactions between users and platform technologies, with a particular interest in how meaning, legitimacy, and credibility emerge.
The study focuses on what is often referred to as platform logics, and explores how user practices, platform affordances, digital infrastructures, and data together influence how scientific knowledge is stabilized, transformed, and mobilized. In this way, social media platforms contribute to how science circulates in society and parttake in shaping the relationships between science and society.
