Lucrezia Catanzaro completed her master course in Chemical Sciences (curriculum Materials Chemistry and Nanotechnology) at the university of Catania presenting a thesis regarding gold nanoparticle synthesis by pulsed laser ablation and characterization of their aggregation, under the supervision of Prof. Giuseppe Compagnini and Dr. Vittorio Scardaci. She is currently a PhD student in Materials Science and Nanotechnology at the University of Catania, where she is developing here knowledge in the field of plasmonics and Finite-Difference Time-Domain simulations of the surface plasmon resonance properties of noble metal nanoparticles. Her main Ph.D. activity is focused on synthesis and stabilization of noble metal nanoparticles and their application to sensors. In Spring 2024, she has started a short research period at the Umeå University, in the Ultrafast nanophotonic group, to study the ultrafast dynamics in plasmonic structures.
