Career Center at Umeå School of Business, Economics and Statistics

A resource for you as a student to make your journey to the labour market as interesting and rewarding as possible.

The goal of the Career Center's activities is to help you as a student strengthen your self-leadership, explore your potential labour market and ultimately support you in your preparations to achieve your goals. You are welcome to contact us to discuss your specific situation and your enquiries.

Some key points we see as important for you as a student are to:

  • Start exploring your goals with the education early in your education.
  • Discover the labour market that exists with the educational focus you have.
  • Setting up and working actively with your own external monitoring.
  • Create insight into which educational choices, personal qualities and experiences are in demand in the labour market and that give you a good foundation for achieving your goals.
  • Identify activities and arenas for development even outside of your studies.

We at the career center support you on your journey through:

  • coaching conversations (individual or in groups) to identify goals and development opportunities
  • contributing examples of professions and professional roles through interaction with alumni (former students) and the labour market.
  • mentoring with alumni (limited activity depending on resources) or tips and support for networking.
  • meeting regarding application documents (CV, cover letter) and employment processes
  • ongoing invitations and information via email from career.usbe@umu.se.

Interested to reach out for dialogue, just mail me at rickard.lindberg@umu.se.
