Exchange students, tuition-paying students and scholarship students from outside the EU/EEA
Umeå University can assist tuition-paying students, scholarship students and exchange students from partner universities with accommodation through the International Housing Office (IHO).
Unlike universities in many other countries, Swedish universities are not responsible for student accommodations. All international students that are citizens of the EU/EEA/Switzerland have the responsibility of finding accommodation on their own. Since it can be hard to get a student room/apartment we urge you to apply for accommodation right away.
