Updated information on how your studies at UID are affected by COVID-19

To reduce the risk of spreading disease, Umeå Institute of Design is instructed to conduct teaching remotely, as of March 18th. This means that the school is now closed to all students until June 7th. If you have to retrieve personal belongings, please contact your programme director or course responsible teacher.

(UPDATE MARCH 20th) Wozzop Live continues on Mondays at 10:15 as usual. From now on it will be hosted via Zoom – join us here: umu.zoom.us/j/826525934

Most essential programmes and software will be available remotely from next week. Visit the Student Guidelines for Remote Teaching to learn more.

The UID Student Web is now updated with useful information in two new sections:

(UPDATE MARCH 19th) Head of Department, Niklas Andersson, adresses all students on recent developments. Read the letter here

(UPDATE MARCH 18th) As of today Wednesday, March 18th at 10:00, Umeå Institute of Design will be closed to all students until June 7 because of Covid-19. The decision concerns all programmes and courses.

To clarify, this means that UID will be closed for all students you are not allowed to visit our building – but you will carry on with your studies remotely.

The only exception from this rule is if you have to retrieve your personal belongings – in that case please contact your programme director who will let you in.
