Umeå Comprehensive Cancer Centre (CCC) is a centre that promotes and supports excellence in cancer research in northern Sweden.
Umeå CCC bridges existing structures within the Region Västerbotten, the Northern Sweden Regional Cancer Centre (Regionalt cancercentrum Norr), and Umeå University. In addition, Umeå CCC creates new platforms and opportunities for collaboration between clinical and preclinical researchers. The centre integrates academic research and clinical practice.
A network brings together researchers from Umeå University and the northern healthcare regions to strengthen collaborations and support the continued development of cancer research and cancer care. The network organizes activities such as networking meetings and breakfast seminars in the form of Clinical and translational research seminars.

Our network currently includes around 100 researchers. Researchers and other interested parties are invited to join the network by registering their interest.
An accreditation process is currently underway to demonstrate that cancer care and cancer research in Umeå meet the highest European standards. Comprehensive Cancer Centre (CCC) accreditation is awarded by the Organisation of European Cancer Institutes (OECI).
Becoming an accredited CCC is an important step in the continued development of both cancer care and cancer research. The accreditation process involves Umeå University, Region Västerbotten, and the Northern Sweden Regional Cancer Centre.
