Dance Light
Dance Light
Research show that the work environment for a freelance dancer in Sweden, is very stressful. Out on tour, they need to deal with a lot of heavy and big equipment, to both transport and rig. And usually working alone, the dancers doesn’t have any access or support of technicians - forcing them to handle all light set up by themselves. And since all venues where they perform looks different, they are in need of more versatile equipment, to be able to use it everywhere they go.
The purpose of this project is to investigate how the working environment for freelance dancers on tour, with a specific focus on the management of lighting technology.
The final result is called Dance Light. Dance Light is a modular and portable lighting system specifically designed for dancers on tour. The concept is a step towards a completely new standardisation of lighting technology for freelance dancers on tour.
