Dissasembly of 2 cameras, one analog and the other digital. This was done in order to understand and categorize the different parts that makes up a camera.
Blackbox
With technology becoming more and more complex, this project utilizes a industrial design process to explore if there are ways that we can incorporate technology into general education and connect the usually theoretical subjects to a physical product. In collaboration with teachers and educators have it been possible to create a teaching aid concept that would help break down complicated functions and divide them into manageable lectures or sessions. The product chosen to illustrate this project is a analog camera kit, however the concept could be applied to any technological product.
The aim of this project is to inspire the next generation to be more conscious about the electronic devices they choose to own and in that way reduce the amount of wasteful devices that gets produced. This while encouraging features like “repairability”, “upgradeability” and raising the young generations confidence around how different technologies work. This is done through educating the users about “black boxes” during their time in grade school, which is done by building complex electronic devices. These devices are connected to education through accompanying practical and theoretical lessons that connects the different subjects to physical and tangible products.

Sketches and rough size model that explored how the different parts relate to eachother.
The Blackbox. Which describes the concept of what a blackbox is as well as the product inside.
The different layers of the Blackbox camera kit. With varying complexity showcasing both individual components as well as larger modules.
The assembled camera.
