Wild Aware

Hot Team (BFA2/BFA3) 2025

Wild Aware is a digital education platform designed to support foreign forestry workers in learning about Swedish flora in an engaging and interactive way. Inspired by game‑based learning, it helps both new and experienced workers keep knowledge fresh while addressing the challenges of diverse languages, cultural backgrounds, and learning abilities. With migrant seasonal workers making up nearly 90% of Sweden’s forest workforce, current tools like Skötselskolanremain largely text‑based and lack interactivity. WildAware reimagines this process by treating the forest as a co‑actor rather than a mere resource, encouraging recognition of protected species, tree identification, and understanding of moose food sources. Drawing inspiration from Duolingo’s bite‑sized lessons, Pokémon GO’s interactive exploration, and Tinder’s intuitive swiping, WildAware creates a playful, accessible, and ecologically respectful learning experience.
