Hot Team (BFA2/BFA3) 2025

This project explores a future ecosystem for sustainable pre-commercial thinning that improves decision-making for both forest owners and workers. The concept combines drone and satellite data with an app-based overview of forest growth, biodiversity, and thinning needs. Workers can optionally use an AR visor that highlights which trees to remove or preserve, helping prevent biodiversity loss while supporting efficient work. The system adapts to different user types, from small forest owners who rarely thin to large companies that manage extensive areas. A lightweight electric cutter and ergonomic battery solution support quieter, emission-free work with reduced physical strain. Together, the tools enable a scalable transition toward more informed, ecological, and worker-friendly thinning practices.
