Design Project 2 (BFA2) 2026

This project was carried out in collaboration with Nordic Chocolate Innovation and explores how the process of testing chocolate tempering can be made more accessible for home bakers and small businesses. Existing tempering equipment is often expensive and designed for industrial production, making it difficult to access professional tools. The aim of the project was therefore to develop a concept for a product that simplifies chocolate tempering tests. Through sketching and form exploration, the final result was a concept for a chocolate tempering tester consisting of a base unit with an E-ink display, an aluminum cooling unit, and a separate thermometer. The product was designed with a focus on ergonomics, energy efficiency, and a monolithic design language inspired by modern Scandinavian kitchen environments. The digital interface guides the user through the tempering test process and also includes features such as a logbook and a learning platform.
