Field work: Active interviews with investigators.
Veritas
Veritas is a lightweight visual investigation workspace designed for exploratory and non-linear investigative work in law enforcement contexts. Rather than centering interaction around single AI queries, Veritas creates a shared space where investigators combine AI-indexed material with their own contextual knowledge and judgement. The system allows users to assemble queries, constraints, and visual cues on a live canvas, making investigative reasoning visible, adjustable, and reversible over time. Uncertainty and intermediate machine interpretations are deliberately exposed rather than hidden behind a chat interface. For example, word clouds reveal how computer vision has indexed and associated visual material, offering orientation when no clear starting point exists. In this way, Veritas supports two-way collaboration between human expertise and computer vision, keeping investigators in control of sensemaking while working with AI as an analytical partner rather than an authority.
